Axe House Dubai

Axe House is another new bar and restaurant in Dubai and we took a few friends along to check the place out. We went out on a Tuesday night which is ladies night at most bars in Dubai, however Axe House have an alternative ladies night called 'friends with benefits'girls get 4 free drinks and there is a 2 for 1 offer for everyone until midnight and 50% off food for mixed groups, pretty good right? The place looks great, it's super urban and there is a pool and ice hockey table which is quite fun to have. There were a few things we didn't feel too comfortable about which was the huge amount of smoke (even though we were sitting in a non-smoking area) the smoke filled up the place it actually made our eyes water and also the music was extremely loud specially for a restaurant/bar, we had to shout at our friends as none of us could hear a word the other person was saying. The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. We ordered a few things off the menu, halloumi fries, scampi and chips, onion rings, chocolate smash and much more. The food came out fast and hot but the food wasn't as good as we hoped it would be, the ribs came with the smallest amount of mash and the scampi was over cooked it almost looked black. We did enjoy the onion rings and the ribs were tasty. I think if we do visit again we might just have a few drinks and nibbles and not a full meal. The desserts were awesome, we got to smash one of the desserts which was quite fun. We also had the Eton mess, it wasn't like your typical Eton mess but we did enjoy it.

Check out Axe House for yourselves, it is located at the Armada blue bay hotel, cluster P Jumeirah Lakes Towers Dubai. Let us know what you think.

Parlour Boutique Dubai

A lot of people ask us where can they find a good afternoon tea in Dubai. There are quite a few here, we got to try one out recently and we wanted to share it with you all.
We visited a new French restaurant called Parlour Boutique at One Central building, Trade centre. The first thing we noticed when arriving was how modern and pretty the interior was and of course very Instagram friendly which as you know we love.
They have pink plates, mugs and the cutest takeaway cups. Parlour Boutique afternoon tea starts from 2pm, you get hand crafted french pastries and cute tasty little sandwiches. There is a variety of different little bites on the afternoon tea stand which was shaped as the Eiffel tower, adorable. There was wagyu beef, chicken and cheese sandwich, salmon, lemon meringue, madeleine cakes, club sandwiches and much more.
As you can see there was a lot to eat and it was all really delicious, the pastries were freshly baked. We were surprisingly full. The staff were great, always there checking on everyones tables, greeting everyone with smiles and it made our experience a good one.
